Jeff and Colleen

(a small preface... This is not the order I wanted to post these images in but blogger is be dumb so I guess this is what I get.)

Anyway, I got an email at the beginning of the year from a girl that knows a friend of mine and she said she really liked my work and asked if I had ever considered photographing weddings. Then, she went on to tell her story and ask me if I would like to photograph her wedding. My heart skipped a beat at the thought of getting into weddings. Me?? Seriously?? Photograph weddings?? I prayed about it and talked to my hubby and he could not have been any more supportive. So, here we are now. Jeff and Colleen got married on July 18th and their wedding was so fun. They are such a laid back, awesome couple and I could tell that their guests were truly there to support them and love on them on one of the most important days of their lives. Thank you, Jeff and Colleen, for trusting me to capture these timeless images of you and your guests.

had to post this one..

I love photographing families. I really try and capture the the family's personalities so alot of the time I ask them to take a break from looking at the camera and usually ask them to play and talk to each other and I LOVE this one that I got form my last family session. Little brother was so into big brother and his brand new mohawk (and his ears, too). So, I asked mom and dad to play with the kids and little brother INSTANTLY looked up and grabbed the first thing he saw... haha. Enjoy. :)

I've been waiting for weeks to put these up!

I'm so excited to post these images. Colleen got married this last weekend and I was honored when she asked me to photograph the wedding. Everything went so well for this ultra laid-back couple and I think they had so much fun on their big day. I am just posting bridals for now because she has already seen them but stay tuned because I will be posting wedding images in the next week or so- once the happy couple is back from their trip.

This girl is outnumbered... and loves it.

This session was so fun. I love walking into my clients homes and being able to see how they decorate and how to make my work into a piece of art for their homes. Michele and Reed's home was beautiful and warm and I can't wait to see what they decide to display in their home. Annnnd it's even better when we walk about 10 feet out the back do to find a very nice backyard to take photographs in. :) I think families, especially kids, feel more comfortable in their own surroundings. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy your sneak peak. Thanks again for an enjoyable evening.

I don't normally do this...

... but tonight I'm doing a personal post. For the three of you that read my blog- we went on a WONDERFUL vacation with our friends Jason and Nicole to Oregon. Their families live there so we had free lodging (and AWESOME hosts). The weather could not have been any better so we took advantage of it and spent almost the whole time outdoors. Here was our trip... in photos. Sort of.

These were the TVs in the headrests on the Airplane. These were so cool. The little airplane in the lower right corner moved with us so we could see what state we were flying over.

The "30 Minute" hike to Crawfish Lake where we fished and relaxed for the day. Jason's step dad told us it was an easy 30 minute hike and 50 minutes after a pretty grueling hike we were wondering what in the world he was talking about. :)
These dogs were mammoths. The first one's name is Chevelle and the second is Murphy. Murphy is the biggest dog I have ever seen. These dogs were gentle giants and it was so neat to watch them.Anthony Lakes? I think that's what this lake was called. It was BEAUTIFUL.

Then we went camping. We had a BLAST hiking and fishing and eating and relaxing. I think I put away no less than 10 roasted marshmallows. (pre-boot camp :) We were a little worried about it getting REALLY cold at night so all four of us piled into one tent. The girls in the middle on the air mattress (sweet boys) and the boys on either side of us. Nic and I slept great... The boys on the other hand.... like I said- sweet boys. :)Nicole likes hers BURNT.
Jason likes his warty and brown- not burnt.
I like mine brown- not burnt- with a smore in my other hand. Hahaha. This girl likes to eat. Again- b.o.o.t.c.a.m.p. TERRIBLE PICTURE!
My sweet, sweet handsome hubby. He was having the time of his life living it up in the outdoors.

.BEAUTIFUL.

The view looking out the back door at Nicole's parents house at sunset. Why do we live in Texas again?
Pretty cool.

Our super cool buddies. :) Thanks Jason and Nicole for letting us tag along on your summer vacation.
Playa Del Carmen next??

Addicted to Stairs

I met up with Cooper and his mommy the other night to take his two year old pictures and I had a blast chasing him around town. This little man LOVES stairs. I think by the end of the night he had walked up and down, up and down no less than 5 different sets of stairs. I bet he has some killer quads. :) Thank you, Cooper and Sydney, for a great evening. Happy 2nd birthday!

one more thing-

We just got back from and AWESOME vacation in Oregon and I snapped my camera almost 1,000 times so get ready for a post fullll of crazy fun hiking, fishing, relaxing pictures!

Oh yeah, and I started boot camp the night I got back. I debated whether or not to put this on here but I need some accountability. So, I figured if I put it on here there's no turning back- I'm diving in head first. So, if you talk to me or see me out- ask me if I'm resisting the temptations that are screaming at me louder than ever. (Taco Bell, junk food, CARBS, ice cream, etc. all of the things that are making me hold on to that "baby weight." eh- my baby's almost two- guess I can't blame it on that any more)

Stay tuned. :)

Full head of hair

When hubby and I got the text that our friends' baby had been born it had all of the important stats then said "she's got a ton of hair!" They weren't joking around. This girl is going to have the best hair. I enjoyed spending the morning with this sweet family. :) Congratulations, you guys!
